In 2017, we designed a special logo and a custom typeface for Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo. The logo appeared at the headquarters in Veghel, on trucks, and on the apparel of the cycling team, Team LottoNL–Jumbo. The typeface was used in stores and in various advertising campaigns.
The strategy and art direction were led by advertising agency OD Design, allowing us to fully focus on the design.
Below is the new logo as it appeared on the facade of the Jumbo headquarters in Veghel.
Featured on the cycling team’s apparel, as well as on the racing bikes themselves, the buses, etc., the logo appeared in multiple colour variations.
After the initial design phase, Eyal further developed the logo’s letterforms into a complete typeface with four weights. The typeface – Jumbo Sans, also known as “Sympatico” – was used in stores, magazines, and various communications.

One font variants we designed consisted solely of sturdy digits, tailored for use on price stickers in the supermarket.
