“Unity” is a series of silkscreen art prints that we created for the project LETTERS, at the invitation of the Grafische Werkplaats of The Hague.
In times of global division, we could wish nothing more for the world than “unity.” These are abstracted letter shapes that, through repetition and overlap, forge new harmony and cohesion. The letters are still just recognizable, but take a visual role that extends beyond language and context. The geometric rosettes draw inspiration from organic forms and the world of sea creatures.
“Unity” was exhibited, among other places, at the Central Library of The Hague during the festive reopening and the exhibition of experimental and innovative printing techniques (#Hoogtij78).
The posters are printed with two unique inks. On one we’ve also used a third, glow-in-the-dark ink.
Art prints of this series can be ordered via the website of the Grafische Werkplaats.
